A chocolate cake for Brady’s
We were asked to make a chocolate cake for this super restaurant in London for a private party.
The event was a sixtieth birthday and the brief was a plain chocolate cake with 'Happy Birthday' written on top.
We like to make a large cake for birthday parties as the cake is usually cut into wedges, as opposed to finger slices for weddings and sometimes taken home by the guests.
The party was for fifty people, so we went for a twelve inch chocolate mud cake, recipe from 'Planet Cake', it is always good. A bit like a chocolate brownie cake. Very moist!
It was perfect timing as I could use my new found chocolate skills to use the 'poured chocolate ganache glaze recipe' for covering the cake. A very nice technique and a new experience.
